What are the different techniques in MIAVR?

mini-thoracotomy
mini-sternotomy

Right anterior mini-thoracotomy (RAT)

aims to provide good exposure of the aortic root, the aortic valve, the right atrium and the pulmonary vein.1

A mini-sternotomy

that extends into the 3rd or 4th intercostal space, referred to as a J sternotomy, is the most common MIS procedure.2 It aims to reduce operative trauma by maintaining chest-wall continuity, thus accelerating recovery time and improving cosmesis.3
